The A8 is one of the easiest cars to work on if you have the ross-tech software. It can be purchased at www.ross-tech.com.

This software enables you to talk with your car. It has many modules to pull fault codes and view measuring blocks (data points). Modules include engine, transmission, central locking, HVAC, radio, brakes, instruments, and others. You will be amazed at what it can do for you. Anywhere from recoding the transmission to "sport" to allowing the key fob to do "one touch" unlock of all doors. You can recode it with the ross-tech software. It is an ESSENTIAL troubleshooting tool for the A8.
